<hr /><strong><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:small;">I am simply going to share with you my personal experience having success losing the weight I wanted.  After having visited my doctor for a regular check up and being told I was in the obese catagory for my hieght and weight, and just generally feeling sluggesh, tired, and energy deficient, I decided to make a change.  Yes, unfortunately, there is effort required to actually attain the better health you desire.</span></strong></span></strong><strong><span style="font-family:Arial;font-size:small;">If you truly want to lose the weight then you will follow just <span style="text-decoration:underline;">3 basic steps</span>.  These are how I became successful losing the desired weight:</span></strong></p>

<p style="text-align:left;"><strong><span style="font-family:Arial;font-size:small;">Let me start with number 1 and explain how I was able to exercise determination through out my efforts to lose weight.  First, I had finally obtained the correct information as to how to go about properly and safely losing excess weight.  The basic concept: &#8220;TRAIN YOUR BODY TO BURN FAT RATHER THAN CARBOHYDRATES!  I learned some basic biology.  </span></strong></p>
<p style="text-align:left;"><strong><span style="font-family:Arial;font-size:small;">Our body has a lot going on inside, even if you don&#8217;t exercise or do much else.  Our body needs a lot of energy to keep the blood flowing, the systems working, the brain functioning.  We provide our body with the raw supplies to create energy by eating.  Our bodies take that food, convert it into energy, and that&#8217;s how the body keeps itself going.  The body really only has 2 basic kinds of fuel it can use.  Fuels are either carbohydrates (sugars, starches, etc)  or they are fats.  Just about everything else you eat &#8211; including fiber &#8211; is passed through your system without having an energy impact.  </span></strong></p>
<p style="text-align:left;"><strong><span style="font-family:Arial;font-size:small;">The problem with most people is with the sugar-rich, pasta-rich, bread-rich, potato-rich diet the moderan world eats the body becomes overwhelmed with the carbohydrate type of fuel.  So it leaves its fat reserves alone, saving them for &#8220;dangerous starvation times&#8221;.    Any morsel of carbohydrates that we eat and do not immediately use gets converted into fat and tucked away for future use.  Because we eat so many carbs the fat layers grow and grow.  Knowing this process we can revervse this cycle and lose the excessive fat layers stored on our bodies.</span></strong></p>
<p style="text-align:left;"><strong><span style="font-family:Arial;font-size:small;">Low carb diets simply provide your body, naturally, with its other normal energy source.  And that is Fat.  The diet that mankind ate naturally for thousands of years was not loaded with junk food and sugar!  It was primarily meat, fresh vegetables, and fresh fruits.  The idea is to eat plenty of food &#8211; your body never panics about being in &#8220;famine mode&#8221;.  Frequent feedings are of particular importance since after three or four hours of no food your body switches to the CATABOLIC state (a state in which you lose muscle and gain fat).  The body believes that it is starving and it starts feeding itself on lean muscle tissue and it prpares to store calories as fat.  </span></strong></p>
<p style="text-align:left;"><strong><span style="font-family:Arial;font-size:small;">So it doesn&#8217;t shut down fat burning efforts we need to eat 4 to 6 meals (moderate low carb) per day.  If it doesn&#8217;t see enough fat coming in from one source (your mouth) it easily grabs fat from another source (i.e. the layers of fat on your body or tummy).  And since fat becomes its primary source of energy, you don&#8217;t feel starving during the day or famished at mealtimes because your body always has a &#8220;fat store&#8221; to snack on when it needs it.   You will find very quickly on a low carb diet that you will rarely be hungry &#8211; your body will find enough &#8220;fuel&#8221; within its own fat cell storage.  So, the more you know the better prepared you will be on your way to a HEALTHIER YOU!</span></strong> </p>
<p style="text-align:left;"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size:small;"><strong>Now for item number 2.  The Low Carb diet.  Note here that every meal should have correct portions of Carbohydrates, Protiens, and Fat.  If you only eat carbohydrates in one meal without anything else, your energy levels will crash in about 30 minutes and your body will be storing any carbohydrates that were not used into fat.  </strong></span></span></p>
<p style="text-align:left;"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size:small;"><strong>Conversely, if you only eat protein, you will lack energy and your body will not be able to turn the protein into muscle because it is difficult for the body to absorb protein in the absence of cabohydtrates.  As a guide to correct ratios we should be taking in about 40% carbohydrates, 40% protein, and 20% fats.  </strong></span></span></p>
<div style="text-align:left;"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size:small;"><strong>What you are trying to achieve here is a state of KETOSIS.  Please note the following information warning for the miss use of or prolonged severe ketosis.  Low carb diet does not mean NO CARB!  Nor does it mean you stop carb intake for prolonged or indefinite periods. </strong></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align:left;"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size:small;"> </span><span style="font-family:times new roman, times, serif;font-size:small;">Ketosis is a process in which your body converts fats into energy. 		<description><![CDATA[Is it already to late for the citizens of our Nation to prepare for the rainy days ahead?  Are the rains coming and we have not prepared our own Noah's Ark so to say?  While there is always hope for a better economic day, many may be found lacking and wanting for even just the basic necessities of life.<img alt="" border="0" src="http://stats.wordpress.com/b.gif?host=mwessel.wordpress.com&amp;blog=4693049&amp;post=33&amp;subd=mwessel&amp;ref=&amp;feed=1" width="1" height="1" />]]></description>
			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Is our day really any different then the days of Noah? And why would anyone use the ancient Prophet Noah to discuss our current economic troubles. It is simple. It is a story about foresight and preparation. About those who listen to the warning voices and those who do not. In all ages of our history people have been faced with challenges of all sorts. Some listen but many ignore the signs and warnings.</p>
<p>Just like in Noah&#8217;s day much of our society today is not prepared for this economic down turn or flood of financial crises. We have lived beyond our means and many have not saved for the rainy day. Unfortunately, prosperity brings with it complacency. Many of our community are drowning under the pressures brought on by excessive debt. Because we live in the real world where people take advantage of others, greed runs ramped and is a main cause in my opinion of the financial problems many face today.</p>
<p>Well, I think the comparison is appropriate because as in Noah&#8217;s day so in ours. History does repeat itself! I have heard the warning voice for over thirty years. A warning to get out of debt and stay out of debt. A warning to live within my means. A warning to save for the rainy day. A warning to have on hand and up to date a 72 hour emergency supply of food, water, clothing, medical supplies, etc. We recently received validation of that advise when so many were without water and the very basic necessities during hurricane Katrina. Many complained that their Federal Government dropped the ball on getting those supplies to them timely. Really, who is responsible for our own welfare.</p>
<p>In our day it may not be a massive and all encompassing flood, but certainly a World wide financial collapse or crises can be as devastating. Why is it so many of us wait until the Ark&#8217;s doors are closed and water has covered the earth before we realize we should have followed some basic and wise advise or council to be prepared for the rainy day.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Our society spends a lot of money and time trying to be healthy.  Weight loss and dieting products are sold making it an Industry over billions of dollars.  There are many opinions as to the best ways to control weight and over all better health.  I am referring to one I have followed my whole life and found to be true and effective.</p>
<p>Over 150 years ago a health code was introduced by a man with only a 4th grade education that proved to be wisdom way before his day and time.  His health code went against the standard of his day.  In essence it was based on abstaining from alcohol, tobacco, hot drinks (coffee and tea), and all other harmful substances.  It suggested the use of grains such as whole wheat, herbs,  vegatables, fruits, etc.</p>
<p>This health code was given by way of warning based on the foresight that in the last days (our days) there would be evils and designs which do and would exist in the hearts of conspiring men.  Lets face it, it is obvious that in our greed driven society that there are those who have sought profit over the health of others, sought power and wealth at any cost to the consumers.  They don&#8217;t care their products (like tobacco and alcohol) are killing tens of thousands of people and costing billions of dollars in medical, mental/emotional, and other expenses.  Not to speak of the lives destroyed and families broken apart, and the hardship and sadness their products have caused.  For what, their profit.</p>
<p>All I know is I have faithfully followed the wisdom of a young man who gave a Word of Wisdom long before I was born to beware of conspiring men in the last days.  I have enjoyed good health and strength physically as I have followed this counsel.  The promise was given with this health code that those who followed it would have strength and good health.  I have found this to be true.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>There is no question we are all concerned about the future.   We have been warned for many, many years that this World economy running on such a fine tight rope would have major problems even with the slightest glitch.   We are there.  While it is true Capitalism is a better alternative to Socialism, it does by its very nature cause many to be driven by greed.  And my feeling is greed is the real issue.   In my opinion Greed is the cause of the current economic situation we are in as a Country, and as a World community. </p>
<p>Really, how much is enough!  What does it really take as far as personal wealth for a person or family to sustain all their needs and wants.  Locally, in our County, certain County leadership just voted themselves a raise.  This on top of their $100,000 annual salaries while at the same time over 2000 County employees are laid off and now without a job. </p>
<p>I am not an economist, but it seems to me if there was just a little more Charity in the World, a little less selfishness or self interest, and certainly less greed,  economic storms would be fewer or none existent.  I know the effect of Capitalism and the driving force it can be in an economy and would choose it any day over Socialism.  But I believe it must be tempered with things like humility, unselfishness, and charity. </p>
<p>After all, we are all in this together and would most likely have a much better self and community outcome if we followed just a few basic moral principals.  These basic moral principals were a great part of the character of our founding fathers.  We as citizens of this great Nation need to go back to the basics.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong><em>Weight Loss through Life Style Change #2 </em></strong>has to do with the <strong><em>&#8220;Quantity&#8221;</em></strong>of food we eat each day verses the amount our bodies actually need for nutritional sustenance.  There are some who have written entire books around this one subject.</p>
<p>This step in the process to attain healthier weight management seems too simple to be true.  But, in fact it really works.  Of course it is best to eat healthy foods but just by cutting in half each meal we eat each day no matter the type of food we are eating will achieve weight loss results.  Our bodies will naturally adjust to the quantity and cause us to desire the right kind of healthier foods with the right nutritional values.   </p>
<p>I tested this method and found it works.  I lost 7 pounds in one week.   It really isn&#8217;t that hard to follow this plan.  What ever you order at the restaurant or make at home or while over at friends or family, just eat only half portions of what you normally eat. </p>
<p>As I mentioned in my last article Weight Loss Life Style Change #1 &#8220;Body Cleansing&#8221; we are in a world of commercialism.  We are bombarded with consume, consume, consume.  It seems it is always large size or super size everything.  The problem is our appetites don&#8217;t know when to quit.  They tell us what we want, but they don&#8217;t tell us how much we need.  The is no overload bell going off to monitor the right amount.</p>
<p>We as American&#8217;s eat about twice as much as needed.  One reason for this is the quality of the food we are eating is poor.  It may take twice as much bad food to provide the essential nutrients we can get from half as much good food.  Over time your body will adjust and start being more selective in what it tells you it wants, since it is getting only half as much.  Vegetables and fruits will gradually look better; junk foods and fluff foods will start to look worse.  During my experience I found this also to be true.</p>
<p>The conclusion, as we discipline ourselves to eat half as much, our appetites gradually change from demanding quantity to demanding quality and begin to take us to where we want to be with very little pressure from our conscious.  So if you truly desire a &#8220;better you&#8221; your second step in the process is as simple as eating half as much as you normally do.   Since the types of food we consume is important my next article will be Weight Loss Life Style Change #3 &#8220;Food Types&#8221;.  If you would like additional information I have found to be helpful on making a better you please visit the websites listed .</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Most of us have struggled with something through our busy and demanding lives.  Some of us more than others.  The one thing I have found to be true through all of it is &#8220;we can survive these struggles&#8221;! </p>
<p>I want to share some ideas that might help in one area of our lives that is important to me.  That is meeting Lifes Struggles with all the strength and fitness possible.  This includes several areas needing your attention such as; physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual.  I want to discuss what I call Life Style changes helping you become a better you.  This entales effort on our part.  But if followed does bring an overall greater ability to meet lifes demands. </p>
<p>While in my future Blogs I will get to all the steps in the process to a better you, the first step is Life Style change #1 &#8220;Body Cleansing&#8221;.  This is about physical fitness, improved strength, and overall wellness.  May I suggest that because of our &#8220;bad&#8221; Life Styles which in our society are driven by Commercial greed, most of us are not in shape to meet the demands of the Life. </p>
<p>Body cleansing is a process to clear our bodies of harmful internal waste.  Because of our poor diets, lets face it most Americans eat processed food and super size everything, our bodies are full of toxins that place a huge burden on every organ in our body.  Weight loss through proper dieting is important but detoxing our bodies should be the first step.  Having the best diet alone does not complete your overall wellness goals.</p>
<p>The following are just some of the things this process accomplishes:</p>
<ul>
<li>help normalize your appetite and metabolism</li>
<li>suppressed hormone levels will be restored</li>
<li>reduce internal inflammation</li>
<li>energy levels will sore</li>
<li>weight loss of usually 1 to 2 pounds per day</li>
<li>complexion will brighten</li>
<li>restoration of your bodies Glandular System</li>
</ul>
